8th December 2019, Durbar Square, Bhaktapur: Right in front of the historic gate of entrance to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the main arena of historic city Bhaktapur, members of Bhaktapur Toastmasters Club welcomed Toastmasters International President Deepak Menon, DTM and District 41 Director Jennifer Ghosh, DTM with bouquets, garlands, and ‘Bhadgaunle Topi’ – a typical product of Bhaktapur along with a display of local musical instrument ‘Dhime Baja’. The guests were accompanied by District 41 Club Growth Director Ranjit Acharya, DTM and Division A Director Suman Shakya, DTM. Adding to the camaraderie were Area A5 Director Avish Acharya and Area A6 Director Pankaj Pradhananga.
The team toured around the square, the Taleju temple, and the famous ‘Nyatapola’ (5- storeyed) temple area, all of which are historic monuments of the city and the country. After the brief touring, the dignitaries were welcomed to Watshala Garden Restaurant. Hari Shyam Shrestha, Vice President Membership at Bhaktapur Toastmasters raised a toast in local taste with ‘Aeyla’ (local wine) in ‘salicha’ (local wine glass) followed by another wonderful toast by Menon who mentioned that with the warmth and greetings he received in Nepal he is taking home not only good memories but also the feeling that he had found a family here.
Sandeep Dhawa, Vice President Education and Ishwar Palikhel, Vice President Public Relations at the club presented tokens of love to both the distinguished guests and bid them farewell from the historic city.
