Since Oct 2, 2018, Baneshwor Toastmasters club has marked the vision of Toastmasters International founder Ralph Smedley. With this guided inspiration, a group of minded visionary people (TM Bhanu, TM Subrath, TM Bijay, and TM Sakar ) came together and a seed was planted to make it one of the notable and Quality Educational learning clubs in the heart of Kathmandu at Baneshwor area.
Recently, the club celebrated the completion of its first year, along with the Evaluation & Humorous Speech contest among club members to provides an opportunity for them to blend their speaking skills and provide an opportunity to build a door to becoming a proficient communicator.
Several past members, current members, and guests along with Area Director of A5 Avish Acharya attended the 1st-anniversary meeting to help celebrate this significant milestone. It was held on Wednesday 2nd Oct, from 7 am to 8:30 am and the meeting’s agenda included a Test speech, five contestants for evaluation speech and two contestants for humorous speech. It was very competitive and added a new dynamic to the club. Alongside the contest, one of the club members was recognized by the most improved member award was a special kind of gift was given to acknowledge the member to keep working hard and not to get discouraged.
Over the past year, our club has made an effort to spread the word about the mission of Toastmasters and its benefit to people and has been able to attract many guests some of whom have also become members.
Of course, the program wouldn’t end without cutting the anniversary celebration cake!
