Distinguished Toastmaster Suman Shakya is Division A Director, District 41, Toastmasters International for the term 2019-20. He has been instrumental in envisioning 100 Toastmasters clubs in Nepal meshing with the dream to make Nepal a separate Toastmasters District.

A member since 2004, his home club is Everest Toastmasters Club. He was in the Executive Committee in five different roles including the President twice (2009-11). As Nepal became part of District 41, he was one of the first two Area Directors (2017-18) and was awarded the President Distinguished Area Director. In 2018-19, he became the Assistant Club Growth Director, District 41 becoming active in creating a pipeline of 35 new clubs.

Professionally, he is a consultant, trainer and an entrepreneur. He has over 24 years of entrepreneurial experience and has been an adjunct faculty of strategy and marketing at business schools. He is Founder of Tangent Waves, an action learning consulting, facilitation and training company; Director at SmartPaani, a private company that provides sustainable water management solutions in Nepal; Director at Rooster Logic, a technology company that enables organizations to make decisions based on evidence; Co-Founder of Nepal Entrepreneurs’ Hub that fosters entrepreneurial ecosystem to build Nepal as an economically empowered nation; Consultant at World Bank Group that works with Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Board Member at Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards, Nepal.

He is known as the marketing guru, serial entrepreneur, business doctor and a much sought after mentor and a motivational speaker, facilitator and moderator.
