Area A2’s Table Topics and International Speech Contest were successfully held on a cold spring Saturday morning on 14th March 2020 at Grace Hotel, Bhaisepati.
With a dedicated team led by Toastmaster Ravi Mainali, Area A2 Director as the Chief Judge, the contest was kicked off by our very own comedian Toastmaster Mayur Goyal as the Sergeant-at-Arms.
The Table Topics Contest chaired by Toastmaster Payal Saria from Shangrila Toastmasters Club had 3 contestants, Toastmasters Ruchi Saxena (Shangrila Toastmasters), Monisha Shrestha (Bhaisepati Toastmasters) and Kriti Panth (Professionals Toastmasters). In this all women-led part of the contest, we heard each contestant’s delightful version of “When nothing goes right …….”.
Following the Table Topics Contest was the International Speech Contest chaired by Toastmaster Nirajan Kandel from Professional Toastmasters Club with Toastmasters Rahul Chokhani (Shangrila Toastmasters) and Arjun Bhattarai (Professional Toastmasters) as the contenders. Both speeches were nothing short of a Ted Talk inspiring us all.
We also had a brief talk by Dr. Merina Shrestha, member Toastmaster at Bhaisepati Toastmasters Club, regarding the coronavirus and the prevention of its spread. The talk was both very informational and relieving as it touched upon basic and doable precautionary measures and actions to prevent the spread of the virus.
