The International speech and table topic contest was held on 3rd March 2020. There were five participants in the Table Topics contest and three in the International speech contest. The session started with a brief introduction about the contests, the rules of the contests and about the chief judge, Toastmaster Prashant Shrestha, Area A4 Director. The contest chair for the Table topics contest was Toastmaster Renuka Silwal and for the International Speech contest was Toastmaster Umesh Joshi.
The first contest was the Table Topic Contest. Each contestant was given the same topic to speak on. The five participants in the table topic contest delivered good table topic speeches and was received well by the audience.
After the table topic contest, the contestants were asked a few questions. The questions were based on what they had written on the contestant forms prior to the contest. After an exciting and engaging question-answer session, the international speech contest started. There were three contestants, and all of them spoke eloquently. There was a question and answer session among the contestants after the contest. A few questions were also asked to the audience.
After the round of interactions, it was time for the nail-biting time, the announcement of the winners. The winners the 1st runner up and the 2nd runner up of the table topic and international speech contest were declared. The winner for the Table Topics contest was Toastmaster Soni Rai and for the International Speech Contest it was Toastmaster Aravind Chitrakar. The winners represented Standard Chartered Bank Nepal in the area contest on 11th March 2020.
After the session ended, snacks were provided, and the guest, the contestants the judges and other Toastmasters interacted with enthusiasm.
Overall it was a very exciting, engaging, and heartwarming session. The programme was conducted very well with finesse and passion. We want to thank SCB Nepal Toastmasters club President Shradhha Joshi, Toastmasters Renuka Silwal, Rujal Lal Joshi, Shibani Shrestha, Prativa Neupane, judges from other Toastmasters and chief judge Area Director Prashant Shrestha for a wonderful session. We would also like to thank Toastmaster Sanjil Tamrakar for videography and photography. We hope in the future there will be more contests at SCB Nepal Toastmasters club and also joint meetings between SCB Nepal Toastmasters club and other clubs.
