On 7th May 2019, KU-SOM Toastmasters Club celebrated its 26th meeting which marked the 25th milestone and the member’s milestone in various contests- TM Alfa Maiya Shakya had won the first position in International Speech Contest and TM Shreya Ghimire had bagged the second runner up title in Table Topics in Division Contest. It was an extremely worthy moment, made further better by the presence of dignified personalities including Prof. Dr. Bijay KC, Dean of Kathmandu University School of Management, Prof. Dr. Binod Krishna Shrestha, Associate Dean of Kathmandu University School of Management, DTM Suman Shakya, the then Associate Club Growth Director, District 41, Shaurab Lohani, the then Area 3 Director who also happened to be the General Evaluator for the meeting, and Jenny Manandhar, the then President of Rato Bangala Toastmasters Club.

DTM Suman Shakya commenced the meeting with a motivational speech that put everyone in an energetic mood to get started. The meeting was further bettered by TM Jenny Manandhar who shared her club’s journey with everyone in the meeting. The Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Aarju Joshi and the Table Topics Master was TM Samikshya Sharma. KU-SOM Toastmasters Club has become exemplary when it comes to its unique way of conducting the Table Topics Session and this meeting was no exception. From fun-filled topics to gifting of accessories to the volunteers, the Table Topics Session left a lasting impression on everyone’s mind. There were also two speakers from KU-SOM Toastmasters Club, TM Sambriddhi Dhital and TM Ritik Thapa, both of whom delivered their Ice Breakers in the meeting. The formal part of the meeting concluded with Prof. Dr. Bijay KC giving his reflection on the overall meeting. 

The 26th meeting was celebrated at Cuisine Court, Naxal, Kathmandu. The event was filled with not only speeches and motivational encouragements, but also with food and fun. From singing to dancing, the merry-making allowed everyone to breathe in the fresh air in a lively and new environment, and hence enjoy the meeting in a relaxed manner. Given the addition of many new members in KU-SOM Toastmasters Club, this meeting also allowed networking and relationship building to foster among all the members. All in all, the whole meeting was a great success.
